Struck by the death of Shannon Harps, neighbor to several of my friends, we dedicated our Saturday to doing some good in the world. We hit the streets with home-baked goodies and healthy snacks to see who we could offer them to. Being a really cold and wet day we actually didn't come across too many people in need on Capital Hill, so we headed downtown. There we found a few more small but mighty groups of do-gooders, including these guys delivering free hugs. All in all it was a good day.
- We passed out a dozen bags of treats
- Bought coffee for a stranger
- We hugged some strangers
- Called our senators urging them to bring our troops home and urged others to do the same
- Bought a round of coffees and hot chocolates
- Prepared some donations for a school that we visited in Zambia
