Good Deed Day

Struck by the death of Shannon Harps, neighbor to several of my friends, we dedicated our Saturday to doing some good in the world. We hit the streets with home-baked goodies and healthy snacks to see who we could offer them to. Being a really cold and wet day we actually didn't come across too many people in need on Capital Hill, so we headed downtown. There we found a few more small but mighty groups of do-gooders, including these guys delivering free hugs. All in all it was a good day.

• We passed out a dozen bags of treats
• Bought coffee for a stranger
  
• We hugged some strangers
• Called our senators urging them to bring our troops home and urged others to do the same
• Bought a round of coffees and hot chocolates
  
• Prepared some donations for a school that we visited in Zambia
